Special Olympics Ontario is a volunteer driven organization with some 18,000 athletes and 8,000 volunteers registered across the province. Athletes range in age from 8 - 80 and have the opportunity to train in 18 sports during the year.


The York South Community of Special Olympics Ontario is comprised of Richmond Hill, Markham, Thornhill, King City and Whitchurch-Stouffville. There are over 200 registered athletes and over 60 volunteers and coaches.  This also includes school-based volunteers. Every facet of our community is dedicated to enriching the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through the power of sport!
